Hey guys, in the middle of putting back a ej251 for my 2000 rs. Original motor threw a rod.
So I'm trying to see if the motor turns by hand easily. I put a torque gun to the crankshaft bolt, and it spins(the heads are off and I see the pistons moving) but it seems like it struggles a little. It turns very slowly then a sudden fast moment then slow again. Is this normal?
There is almost NO rust on the cylinder walls, I've been using WD40 and pb blaster to keep them lubricated and virtually rust free. I just don't want to put all the gaskets on and put the motor back in and it not turn over with the starter(I mean a torque gun can barely turn it, I can't imagine a starter turning it an faster but hell, I could be wrong)
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
