- Professionally detailed on Aug. 30, 2013.
(Services performed: waxed/ polished/ sealed/ clay bar treated; all carpet, door cards, headliner and seats shampooed; interior was anti-bacterial and deodorize treated; vinyl/ dash/console dressed.)
Included goodies:
- Extra pair of genuine Subaru JDM Headlight assemblies
- A spare RS wire harness 80% merged with a 2003 WRX wire harness plus a 2003 WRX ECU (Denso 22611AJ031/ 112200-5693)
*the previous owner was a network engineer and knew his way around wiring. He was planning a swap, so he merged most of the wires himself. If you send both harnesses to iWire, Im sure that they would finish the job at a relatively cheaper price than starting from the beginning
The cons:
- A/C needs to be re-charged
- Radio reception/antennae, needs tweaking or maybe needs a radio deck replacement for better reception
- It needs a tranny and diff. The previous owner installed a JDM STi IV transmission and differential. The same f#ckin day I got the car smogged, the damn tranny went out on me while I was headed back to work. Let me reiterate that the motor is still in perfect working order. Currently, the car sits at my local repair shop in which the tranny and associated parts have been carefully removed. This will allow for a replacement tranny to slip right in and avoid any labor removal charges of the old one. All tranny related parts (driveshaft, CV joints, drive shaft shield, crossmember, airbox, bolts, etc.) will remain detached and stored in the car or trunk excluding the transmission itself. I have a brand new, never mounted Exedy OEM Clutch replacement kit (Part# KSB04) in which I will provide with the sale.
- Apparently DMV messed up on the registration of the car from the previous owner. The original cluster now says 110k but the DMV paperwork says 210k. He started an investigation regarding this discrepancy but CA DMV did not want to make the appropriate change. I didnt mind mileage issue and registered the car at 211k to avoid any DMV registration setbacks. If desired, I can provide another cluster which does have 210k from another car. For those planning a swap, Im going to assume that this shouldnt matter anyway.
- The needle of the fuel gauge does not work but the low fuel indicator light will come on. However, I did change the fuel sending unit and fuel assembly with brand new OEM parts purchased at a local Subaru dealership to take care of a CEL. It does have a full tank of 91 gas. ;) ...that's because I filled up right before the tranny blew.
Currently the car is registered as non-op here in CA. To register the car back to operational will only cost $90 in CA. I paid most of the 2014 registration and incurred late fees accumulated by the previous owner. I can provide a copy of the smog cert. if need be.
In short, I have done everything to finally get this car perfectly functional, operational, smogged and ultimately to my satisfaction but alas, I simply cannot afford to replace a transmission and its associated labor fees. I have been nothing but open, honest, and upfront so nothing is a surprise. I hope that counts for something! Please feel free to ask my any questions.
$2700 is pretty much firm. Shipping/Towing fees will be at buyers expense.
