So I have an 02 WRX gas tank that I am going to stick a GD STi fuel sender in to be able to run the OEM surge box.
Comparing the two senders next to each other you see this:
STi on the bottom, RS on the top.

The STis have the fuel filter right there on the sender as you can see, and the RS' (and I guess in my case, V4 STis) have the fuel filter in the engine bay like so:

And a closeup on the STi one:

My questions are:
Did GD STis have one in the engine bay? (I'm pretty sure no)
Will running both of these filters be alright?
Should I get rid of one of them? If so, which do I get rid of?
I want to retain as much OEMness as possible and obviously have a fuel system that works properly.
My thoughts are that having two filters shouldn't make a difference in fuel delivery to the engine... it just means I'll have super mega ultra clean fuel :p.
