Swap and ebrake heat?

I did a swap about a year ago on my 1999RS. Swapped a full 2003 WRX everything. Now I am getting a TON of heat coming up through my ebrake. Is there anything I can do? I have considered replacing the stock ebrake with a leather wrapped and a leather boot but don't know if that will help or not.
