First off, let me start of by saying this car is not immaculate. I'm going to be one of the only honest WRX sellers ever. it's a 2002 with 153k miles. It was modified with some tasteful modifications and some not so tasteful modifications. Most of the modifications were done by the previous owner, everything I have done since has been maintenance, repair and a few modifications to make it more "my own"
My reason for selling? This is my 6th Subaru and currently one of my 6 cars. Trying to thin the herd, drop my insurance payment and I don't really get the opportunity to drive it as much as I would like.
So, It makes weird noises, has an exhaust leak (the downpipe to midpipe flange is leaking because P.O. used a cheap DP, would be solved with a grimmspeed thick gasket), has dings and a few small dents, some strange holes drilled in the hood right in front of the scoop (PO had an 04 sti scoop on it mounted incorrectly) surprisingly not as rusty as you would think it is, but the pinch rails are rather folded, as they tend to be on stupid subarus. Has a slight oil weepage from the valve cover gaskets. I just replaced them ~200 miles ago as they were pissing before, and for god knows what reason they're a little moist again. (NOTE: oil stays in the engine now). The TMIC has some bent fins from where the PO tried to close the hood with the splitter on that obviously didnt fit. that being said, no boost leaks and it holds pressure perfectly fine. It has an A pillar gauge pod with no gauges in it because while I was told they were in the car when given a mod list in considering the trade, they magically disappeared between then and me actually acquiring the car (along with a carbon fiber hood). The trunk looks like someone chewed on it from the inside (really no idea what the **** is going on with it), and the holes for the stock wing are covered with electrical tape and plugs from lowes. The car has tint on 3/4 four windows, the drivers front tint has been peeled off, the passenger front is peeling along with the drivers rear, its just old. It needs a new center support bearing in the driveshaft, good news is i have a known good mt driveshaft out of my old WRX so a 30 minute swap would cure that problem. IT also has an exedy 3 puck clutch, which is great when you're playing rally hero in the winter time and sucks 70% of the time for first gear when you let it out below 1k rpm. It will need the front toe set, after town fair tire ****ing it up three times and then telling me they cant set the toe because the car is lowered (my god they're stupid) I did it myself with a tape measure. It's still a little off, but it works. Has an 04-07 rear bumper conversion on the car, but I had an ocular migraine and decided to back into a flatbed, busting one of the lights.. So the 02-03 taillights are on there, I have the good passenger side 04 tailight, needs a driver side.
Great, now that thats out the way onto the good (or at least positive) ****. It has a fairly long list of modifications, and aside form the exhaust leak and CSB, it is a mechanically sound car with a good maintenance record.
**** I've done in the past 1200 miles. Really, thats all i've owned it for.
New spark plugs
Rotella t6 oil change with subaru blue filters (I couldnt find any black, blow me)
Valve cover gaskets
Replaced rubber intake boot causing post MAF leak
Replaced worn sti struts/springs with 6k mile raceland coilovers. so kind of an upgrade? they ride alright and dont look like a alligator thought they were dinner.
brand new drag dr31 17x9 +17 in 255/40/17 nankang ns20 tires.
Cut out some rust, replaced with fender flares
Covered the fading **** paint on the hood scoop with super jdmbrahyolo plastidip.
Put a super mad tyte cow catcher DIY lip on the front bumper to cover blemishes and scoop away all the plastic bags in the stop and shop parking lot
GT wang. Why? because its ****ing rad, thats why. and it only weighs 7 lbs.
Some other **** I cant remember right now.
It DID make 270whp/260wtq tuned by Mikey Botti on EFI's mustang dyno, so you know it wont blow the **** up because of a shitbox tune.
