GF8 STI, eventual NA eg33 swap Q's

Hey guys, I've done a ton of searching around here and I haven't been able to find a whole lot of information on this.
I found a gf8 sti for a very good price with only 94000 km's on it and I will be importing it very soon. I'm going to drive it as-is for a decently long time but eventually I'd love to swap an eg33 into it, on a budget. However I have a few questions as to the build of the engine itself, and how well it will work with the car.

I have basic experience when it comes to working with engines, and I have a very close friend of mine that is working towards his journeyman. He has rebuilt a few engines and is currently working on a 3sgte swap into his 85 mr2, and he plans on getting 400whp. He also has some experience working with a few h6's, although they were very poorly maintained ones that were brought into the subaru dealership he works at.

1) I plan on a NA build in the eg33, hoping for around 300whp. I'm aware that I will need to get a Saab 93 turbo rad relocated between the lights, and get hood pins. I'm also aware that a port+polish will be very beneficial, as well as some better cams to help get the exhaust flowing better. I plan on getting a standalone ECU aswell. What else should I do to bring the power up, while keeping it reliable as a DD that will see many trips up to the ski hill in the winter? Also, is there anything I can do to keep the fuel economy as good as possible?

2) Is the stock sti 5spd adequate for these goals? Or should I look into swapping a newer sti 6spd when I eventually do the engine swap aswell?

3) For those of you running the eg33 with similar figures, on a scale of 1-10 how difficult is this build and swap?

4) As for suspension, do you have any suggestions for something adjustable (so I can lift it a little bit in the winter, and keep it nice and low in the summer)? And what should I do to compensate for the heavier engine to keep the car handling well? I'd imagine some stiffer springs in the front would help a lot, any suggestions?

I apologize if this is in the wrong section, but seeing as how this is my first post I figured this would be the best place for it.

Thanks in advance!!
