I'm probably going to get flamed for this but I swear I searched, and from what I came up with I believe the guy I'm talking to is full of it. Anyhow heres the situation.
I have a 95 L with a wrx swap, I believe my bottom end is going out, slight knocking on cold starts is all I have right now but it seems to be progressing. Anyhow I've been looking into what my options are for repairs, be it replacing the short block or rebuilding it. While on crazies I stumble upon a fellow selling a cheap ej22 that he claims can be use as a bottom end in a wrx engine with no issue. Problem is its an ej221 not a ej22t or g. Is it still possible to use a ej221 as a bottom head and keep my wrx heads etc?
Even if it's possible to use the case and swap different pistions/cranks I'd be interested in what would be involved as I've always loved the idea of having that stout closed deck 22 to put my mind a bit at ease.
So my question is could I make his motor work, if so how? Like I said I did search but I only really found ej22t/g info which leads me to believe this guy is bsing me
