Guys,
Had the driver side rear bearing replaced today and other than that the car was just fine.
Car has 101,000 miles
Got the car back today and the rear bearing noise was gone but now I have this loud clunking/rattling when I hit bumps or shallow pot holes. The sound is exactly at the driver side rear where they did the work.
Was 100% not there before the car was dropped off. I took the car back, they check all bolts and such and all was fine.
Am I right in thinking one or some of the bushings were split or ruined when they were doing the bearing? Could a ruined or failed bushing cause the clunk?
The weather will be decent tomrrow here so if I went under the rear of the car, would I be able to see a bad bushing? What should I look for?
Would else could it be and anything I could check myself visually? Do they remove the strut when doing the bearings? Could the strut be loose?
I can't tell you how annoying it is to get the humming fixed to end up with a noise over bumps and holes.
Thanks.
