Hey guys I'm planning on importing a 97-98 wrx sti from Japan to Canada. I've done a fair amount of research about the wrx. I'm just trying to find somebody who has imported a wrx from Japan (or hasn't ) to answer a few of my questions.
To start off I have asked the importer I'm going with to check to see if the head gasket is in good shape by checking the temp gauge when running and checking to see the if there is any oil under the block. He will check the clutch and bakes aswell. Is there anything else I should request done to the car for inspection?
The fact that I don't know any information about this car from years back is kind of scary. Also the fact that all I get is a video of the car and of the engine idle. Once I find the wrx I want and I get it landed in Canada. What are the first things I should do to it? I know oil change, check all fluids, check all lights, tire tread and I'll probably ably take it in for a compression test. I'm sure there's more to be done.
I forgot to mention I'm sending it on train from the port of B.C to my province.
Please share your knowledge with me.
Thanks guys.
