I have been looking for answers to my issue for quite some time without success. I haven't found any symptoms that match exactly what I am getting and I hope somebody will be able to help.
I have Subru Impreza 2005 (2.5 RS) with manual transmission and no mods. When I accelerate I can hear noise similar to wheel bearing going bad. I had b bearings checked and its not it. Its happening only when accelerating in speed range of about 35mph to 55mph. When I go over 60-65 mph its barely noticeable. When I dont touch accelerator, car is cruising, no matter on speed I can not hear anything unusual. But its enough to just touch accelerator (in correct speed range) to have this noise back.
Noise is independent on gear its in (got it in 3rd, 4th, 5th gear) and seems not to be effected by engine RPMs, more like speed dependent.
It sounds like its coming from somewhere around transmission. I get nothing while car is stopped when revving engine in neutral.
Any ideas on what it could be?:bonk:
