Hello there,
I am making progress in my build and wanted to get a thread going before I go any farther. This is the first member journal I have done for any of my vehicles. I am excited about having a place to track my progress and collect inspiration to move forward.
So to start, a little background on me. My first Subaru and first vehicle was a 2006 2.5i in the dark blue color. I drove it off the lot not really knowing how to drive a standard which spoke to my knowledge of cars in general. I have always like building/tinkering with things so it didn't take long for the mod bug to bite. I bought a kartboy shifter and bushings and put them in and it snowballed from there. I ended up doing lots of little things to keep me busy, but I always wanted more from the car.
Fast forward a year and a half or so, when I learned of a WRX that was just traded in at a local car lot. Well I went down the next day and traded in my 2.5i for a 2004 WRX in Platinum Silver Metallic with ~50k on it. It had a V1 accesport, Perrin downpipe, and Espilir JGT500 catback. Well needless to say, I was in love. I ended up learning the car inside and out and leaving no part untouched. From the retrofits and JDM fogs, to turbo swaps and learning how to tune on the car, I learned a lot. After over 5 years with the car I was beginning to lose interest in it finally and was ready to let it go. Earlier this year, without even putting it up for sale, someone found out I might be ready to sell it and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Pictures of my beloved WRX:

Well I knew what I wanted to buy with the money. I do a lot of camping, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities and I wanted a truck. I really wanted a 1st gen Toyota Tacoma pickup for a long time. After lots of searching I found the perfect one and went and picked it up. It's a 2001 Tacoma double cab 4x4 in Mystic Gold Metallic with ~140k on it, and in great condition. Pictures of when I first got the truck:

But I couldn't just drive a truck. I needed to keep to my Subaru roots. Turns out one of my buddies little brothers wanted to sell his 98 coupe, so I jumped on the chance and bought it off him. He had bought it with a blown headgasket and dropped in a low mileage replacement motor. The chassis itself had around 150k on it when I bought it. Straight body, good paint, NO RUST. Nice! Here is the RS when I first bought it:
