Hey guys,
I've done my research and i'm going to try a transmission flush tmr but i wanted to get the ball rolling as to if anyone has some pointers for me to try.
Car-
2000 Impreza RS 160,000 miles, automatic transmission.
When we got the car we redid head gaskets, installed motor, ran fine.
We did have a problem with it for about a month.
We soon noticed there was a trans. fluid leak. One of the return lines wasnt long enough so i changed out the line.
HELL COMES TO SUBARU-
shortly after the happiness and rainbows have begun to fade, our RS begins shifting like its going to give us whip lash.
I've gotten codes for Gear 1 ratio incorrect and knock sensor.
Im guessing the knock sensor is bc when the car tries to shift it feels like someone is running into my car from the back.
the AT oil temp light goes crazy and the shifting worsens.
TODAY -
driving home from work, from P to D the car shifts harder than normal. then when accelerating it SLAMs to the next gear, SLAMs into the next one and then when im cruising jumps between my two final gears.
the Fuel light came on and i watched my gas gauge drop. My temp gauge spiked when i turned the interior air to cold (keeping it on hot kept it in mid range) and then at a light while stopped my tach spiked, temp spike and then everything died.
the car wouldnt start there was coolant in the over flow bottle.
the not starting part i found tonight was due to a blown fuse in the auto door locks system being blown. i replaced that but i still cant figure out the rest.
SO-
should i be looking at : t-stat? temp sender? water pump?
OH, last night same thing happened with the no start but after the car had been sitting. everytime we took the key out of the ignition the fans would kick on, today however they would not.
and pointer would be awesome.
thanks guys
